Clinical Significance of Sorbitol Tolerance Test in Hepatic Diseases Compared with Changes in Serum Proteins
Chang Kang-Won

Abstract
The sorbitol tolerance test (STT) was performed in 69 cases of various hepatic diseases to observe the relationship of STT-with changes in the serum proteins, and following results were obtained.
1. The STT showed abnormalities in most of the cases, although a significant correlation between STT and the total protein, albumin and globulin levels was not observed. The decease of the serum albumin level, however, appeared somewhat correlated with STT abnormalities, compared with the changes, of total serum protein a d serum globulin levels.
2. Of various liver diseases, hepatitis showed a most marked abnormality in STT even though changes in serum protein were not observed. The liver cirrhosis with reversed A/G ratio and hepatoma with slightly derranged serum protein, showed little abnormalities of STT.
3. Twenty-four cases of liver biopsy revealed
